DJAM Pump Marketing started with Mike Keeley, a graduate of Mechanical Engineering Technology at SAIT in 1980. I started at USS Oilwell that year in an engineering training program, starting working in the warehouse learning what parts were what, then moved to service department working on downhole rod pumps, plunger pumps, gas engines and drilling mud pumps. I spent 5 weeks at the main manufacturing plant in Garland Texas, working in the shop, working with all levels of engineering (manufacturing, product and industrial) for all types of machinery including pumps. Once back at Edmonton, I worked on about 20 field pulsation and vibration field plunger pumps and gave reports complete with recommendations on helping with eliminating the issues they had. I worked as a draftsman for plunger pump unitizations pump and pump part drawings. When National Supply and USS Oilwell merged, I moved the main Canadian manufacturing plant as an industrial engineer, working on adding pump parts into the manufacturing modules including building manufacturing routes, materials of construction and costing. Shortly after that I moved to Calgary in a pump quotations and sales position and eventually worked up to being the Canadian Sales Manager for the surface pumping and downhole divisions. After 23 years with National Oilwell, I moved to Rotating Right as a partner in the business and worked as pump quotations, pump sales, applications manager, sales manager, vice president of sales and executive Vice President. Through those 14 years, I was involved in hundreds of pump applications and pump package designs. One of my strengths is working with clients on applications, P&ID development and pump package layouts, assuring proper space for equipment to be worked on. I have learned that working with field operations in the design stage will get the customer what they want and make the packages field friendly. I joined DNOW in 2016 as the Director of Business Development for the Process Solutions Team. Most of my time at DNOW was working with the Complete Pumping Systems group as lead sales and managing the sales, applications and pump package design team. During my 40 years in the pump business, I have been trained some of the best pump manufacturers including National, Oilwell & Kerr Plunger Pumps, Moyno, Netzsch and seepex progressive cavity pumps, Griswold, Rotech and Truflo ANSI pumps, Envirogear internal gear pumps, Sandpiper AODD pumps and Truflo API 610 pumps. I credit a lot of my pump hands on education to the millwrights that I worked with through the years, they gave me the field perspective to repairs, failures and operating of the pumps.
